Ninja Slushi Recipes

All our recipes for the Ninja Slushi frozen drink maker, sorted by program. Each recipe states the compatible models (FS301, FS601 XL, FS605 Max), the program to select and the right ratios for a texture that freezes every time.

How it works, in 3 points

The Ninja Slushi does not add ice: a compressor cools the liquid just below 0 °C. Everything else follows from these three habits.

1

Sugar, always

It is the sugar (or allulose, or alcohol) that prevents a block of ice. Count on at least ~4 to 5% sugar. Sodas, juices and syrups work on their own; pure “zero” drinks do not.

2

The right program

Slush for granitas, Frozen Cocktail for alcohol, Frappé for coffee (FS301), Milkshake and Frozen Juice for the rest. Each recipe tells you which to choose.

3

Serve or keep cold

Count on 15 to 30 min depending on the model. Once frozen, the cold hold lasts up to 12 h without diluting: prepare ahead with peace of mind.

Getting your frozen drinks right

A few pointers that apply to every recipe and avoid the most common failures:

  • Not enough sugar = it will not freeze. If the machine beeps and the lights flash, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of syrup or sugar per serving, mix, and restart.
  • Alcohol does not freeze. Stay under ~16% on Frozen Cocktail (or ~20% on Frozen Cocktail Max on the XL and Max), and keep sugar in the mix. Too strong? Loosen with a little water or soda.
  • Start with a cold liquid and strain juices with pulp: it freezes faster and the texture is smoother.
  • A neutral base always saves the day: water, sweet syrup and a little juice are enough to improvise a slush and flavour it however you like.

Frequently asked questions

What can you make with the Ninja Slushi?
Granitas from juices and sodas, frozen cocktails (with or without alcohol), coffee frappés, milkshakes and frozen smoothies. Anything that is a sweet drink can be frozen.
What do you put in the Ninja Slushi?
Already-sweetened liquids: sodas, fruit juices, diluted syrups, lemonades, sweetened coffee or milk, measured cocktails. Avoid pure “zero” drinks, which will not freeze for lack of sugar.
Can you make sugar-free recipes?
Not with a “zero” drink on its own. The solution is allulose (about 1/2 tablespoon per 200 ml): it barely sweetens but allows the freeze. For cocktails, alcohol also plays that role.
How do you make slush with the Ninja Slushi?
Pour a sweetened, cold liquid into the tank (between the minimum and maximum), start the Slush program, and wait 15 to 30 min depending on the model. Adjust the texture with the temperature levels.
Can you make alcoholic cocktails?
Yes, with the Frozen Cocktail program (up to ~16% alcohol) or Frozen Cocktail Max on the XL and Max (up to ~20%). Always keep sugar in the mix for the freeze.
