Ninja Slushi compatibility
Program used: Milkshake (milkshake)
The combination of the fruit’s acidity and the sweetness of the milk creates a very thirst-quenching drink. Using whole milk ensures the sorbet does not separate and keeps a perfect consistency in the canister. I particularly appreciate this method because the machine manages the texture from start to finish, offering a result that is both fresh and velvety. It is a great alternative when you are looking to change things up from the classic homemade lemon slush.

- Pour this mixture of approximately 1100 ml into your Ninja Slushi canister, ensuring that the level is well between the min and max markings.
- Select the Milkshake program and let the machine run until the drink thickens.
- Serve immediately in tall glasses, ideally with a wide straw.

For a successful milkshake in the machine, the fat and sugar content is crucial. I always use whole milk because skim milk tends to crystallize and form a hard block. Here, the sugar provided by the sorbet and syrup acts as a natural anti-freeze, guaranteeing a smooth and homogeneous result. If you enjoy dairy-based drinks, do not hesitate to also try our banana coconut milkshake with Ninja Slushi while keeping this rule in mind.
Customizing service and avoiding lumps
I often see the mistake of putting ice that is still hard directly into the canister. Your base must absolutely be 100% liquid before starting, otherwise the auger struggles and the mixing is compromised. Regarding presentation, I like to pour this preparation over a base of red fruit coulis. This creates a beautiful visual contrast and a taste surprise, while maintaining that chilled and creamy aspect we are looking for.
Have you tried this recipe with a splash of red fruit coulis at the bottom of the glass?
Frequently asked questions
Why should I melt the sorbet before putting it in the machine?
The machine is designed to freeze homogeneous liquids. If you add solid blocks, the auger may get stuck and the final texture will be uneven.
Can I use almond milk instead of whole milk?
Yes, but almond milk contains more water and less fat. The result will be slightly more granita-like and less rich on the palate.
Is the Milkshake program available on all models?
Yes, the Milkshake preset is present across the entire range (FS301, FS601 and FS605).
