Ninja Slushi compatibility
Program used: Frappé (frappé)
No Frappé program on Slushi XL and Max, use the Milkshake program and monitor the set to stop at the right thickness.
No more struggling with a blender trying to crush frozen fruit: here, we blend fresh ingredients and let the Slushi handle the chilling. With the machine, your breakfast base reaches the ideal dense consistency to hold toppings. It is so satisfying to get a firm fruity bowl without having to shake a blender clogged by ice. The result is deliciously velvety and ultra-fresh to start the day.

Ingredients
300 ml oat milk (or regular milk)
200 g raspberries (fresh or thawed)
1 ripe banana
2 tablespoons maple syrup
Toppings of your choice: granola, oats, chocolate chips, fresh fruit
Instructions
- Blend the oat milk, raspberries, banana, and maple syrup in a standard blender to obtain a completely liquid and smooth preparation. The Slushi does not blend: you must provide it with a pre-blended liquid.
- Pour this liquid into the Ninja Slushi tank, making sure to stay between the min and max marks.
- Select the Frappé program and let the machine churn until it reaches a thick consistency that stays on a spoon. The sugar in the maple syrup allows the mixture to thicken without freezing into a solid block.
- Serve immediately in bowls and arrange your toppings (granola, banana slices, whole raspberries) on the surface.

High-protein yogurt version : Replace half the milk with yogurt (sheep or Greek) and add a tablespoon of peanut butter during blending for a very filling base.
The secret to a perfect base with Slushi vs a blender
The classic mistake with a traditional smoothie bowl is damaging your blender by forcing it through pounds of frozen raspberries. Here, the approach is reversed. I prepare a fluid liquid with fresh or thawed fruit, and it is the refrigeration system that provides this icy and smooth consistency. The constant churning ensures a very smooth base, perfect for supporting the weight of your granola without it sinking to the bottom. It is the same principle I use for my mango smoothie.
The sugar rule for a good morning set
I am often asked if maple syrup can be skipped in the morning. Technically, the banana provides fructose, but added sugar is your antifreeze. Without it, the oat milk and fruit risk forming a compact block of ice on the machine’s auger. These two tablespoons of syrup keep the mixture soft enough for a spoon. If you are using a Slushi XL or Max, remember that the Frappé program is not available: start the preparation in Milkshake mode and stop when you like the consistency.
Which toppings do you always put on your smoothie bowl?
Frequently asked questions
Why not put whole fruit directly into the tank?
The Ninja Slushi does not have sharp blades, just an auger. You must always pour in a perfectly blended liquid beforehand.
How to adapt this recipe for Slushi XL and Max models?
These large models do not have the Frappé program. Simply start the Milkshake program and visually monitor the texture until it is firm enough for a spoon.
Can I use regular milk only?
Of course! Oat milk adds a nice toasted flavor that pairs well with raspberries, but semi-skimmed or whole cow’s milk will work perfectly with the same setting time.
