Tropical Mango and Pineapple Smoothie Bowl

Ninja Slushi compatibility

Program used: Milkshake (milkshake)

Ideal for summer breakfasts, this bowl format gets rid of the usual chore. Making a thick smoothie bowl in a blender often requires scraping the sides: here, the Ninja Slushi chills the mixture without any intervention on your part. You get a perfectly smooth frozen base with a very pronounced exotic fruit flavor. Simply wait until the consistency becomes dense enough to hold your toppings on the surface, offering a crunchy and refreshing contrast from the very first bite.

This tropical smoothie bowl transforms a simple mix of juice and fruit puree into a frozen breakfast thanks to the constant churning of the machine.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml coconut milk (or almond/oat plant-based drink)

  • 250 ml pineapple juice

  • 200 g smooth mango puree

  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup (or honey)

  • For the topping: granola, coconut flakes, chia seeds, fresh fruit

Instructions

  • In a classic blender, mix the coconut milk, pineapple juice, mango puree, and agave syrup until perfectly homogeneous. The Ninja Slushi does not blend, you need a liquid without large pieces for the auger.
  • Pour this liquid mixture into the Ninja Slushi tank, ensuring the level is well between the MIN and MAX markers.
  • Select the Milkshake program and let it run for about 45 minutes depending on the initial temperature of your ingredients, until the texture becomes thick and stays on a spoon. The Milkshake program incorporates a bit of air, ideal for a velvety spoonable texture.
  • Serve directly into bowls, then quickly arrange your toppings (granola, coconut, fruit) on top before enjoying.

High-protein version

High-protein version : Incorporate a scoop of vanilla protein powder during the initial blending and replace the coconut milk with an unsweetened almond drink, while keeping the agave syrup which is essential for the freezing process.

The secret to a base that holds up

For a successful morning bowl, consistency is king. I have noticed that a common mistake is reducing the sugar under the pretext that it is the morning. However, in the Ninja Slushi, sugar acts as an essential antifreeze: without adding agave syrup, your preparation risks freezing into a compact block. The fruit purees provide a lovely sweetness, but the syrup guarantees that flexibility that makes it easy to scoop. If you prefer to drink it with a straw, I use almost the same recipe for my creamy frozen mango smoothie with the Ninja Slushi, simply by increasing the amount of liquid.

The importance of a completely smooth liquid

Unlike a classic ice cream maker where you sometimes pour in pieces, this machine requires a bit of preparatory rigor. The auger does not grind anything at all, so the liquid poured in must be flawless. If you leave pineapple fibers or poorly blended mango cubes in your starting base, it will interfere with the rotation and the machine will eventually beep or flash. For this reason, I always run my fruit bases through a blender for a few seconds before filling the tank. This is a rule I apply to all my morning preparations, such as the smooth strawberry banana smoothie with the Ninja Slushi, to ensure fluid churning and a creamy result.

What are your must-have toppings for this morning bowl?

Frequently asked questions

Can I use frozen fruit pieces directly in the tank?

No, the machine does not blend food. You must first obtain a completely smooth liquid in a traditional blender before pouring it into the appliance.

My base is becoming hard and the machine is stopping, what is happening?

This is a typical sign of a lack of sugar. Add a little more agave syrup to your initial mixture to prevent the liquid from freezing into a single block.

How long does the bowl stay cold after serving?

Served in a room-temperature container, the mixture will melt quite quickly. I advise you to place your empty bowls in the refrigerator beforehand to maintain a perfect consistency while eating.
