Ninja Slushi compatibility
Program used: Slush (slushie)
The orange flavor of this syrup and its intense color are enough to recreate a summer holiday atmosphere at home. In a blender, crushed ice quickly washes out the blue color, but in the Slushi, the mixture freezes without added water. The result is deeply frozen with a perfect spoonable texture, while maintaining the visual vibrancy of the syrup.

minutesA refreshing drink with orange and lime syrup, frozen to perfection without the need for crushed ice.
Ingredients
200 ml blue curaçao syrup (non-alcoholic)
800 ml water
3 tablespoons lime juice (fresh or bottled)
Instructions
- Mix the blue curaçao syrup, water, and lime juice in a pitcher. The acidity of the lime perfectly balances the high sugar content of the orange syrup.
- Pour the preparation into your Ninja Slushi bowl, ensuring the level is between the min and max marks.
- Select the Slush program and let the machine crystallize the liquid.
- Serve as soon as the texture becomes firm and grainy, ideally enjoyed with a spoon or a thick straw.
Blue Lagoon cocktail version
Blue Lagoon cocktail version : Replace the syrup with 10 cl blue curaçao liqueur and 10 cl vodka, top up with water and lemonade, then start the Frozen Cocktail program.
The sugar and acidity balance: the key to the right program
The crucial point with industrial syrups is managing their concentration. For the machine to freeze the liquid correctly and avoid forming a block of ice, the sugar ratio must be sufficient, as it acts as a natural antifreeze. This is why I don’t add extra sugar here: the syrup’s sugar is more than enough to ensure a well-crystallized consistency. If you find the drink too sweet, do not lower the syrup dose, but simply add a bit more lime juice. This tip balances the palate while maintaining the ideal structure for the Slush program.
Moving from syrup to the alcoholic version
This non-alcoholic base is a big hit with kids due to its playful color, but it easily transforms for an aperitif. The classic mistake is using the default function when adding spirits. Alcohol lowers the freezing point much more significantly than sugar. If you choose my variant with liqueur and vodka, you must select the Frozen Cocktail program. This mode adjusts the cooling so your mixture takes on that snowy appearance without straining the motor. Remember that too much alcohol will completely prevent freezing, so follow the indicated doses to guarantee an ideal result, just as you would for a chilled granita with friends. Enjoy responsibly, of course.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my blue slush still too liquid?
This is often due to a lack of sugar or too much water. Make sure you have strictly followed the ratio of 200 ml syrup to 800 ml water.
Can I use a sugar-free syrup?
I strongly advise against it. Sugar is essential for the liquid to freeze with a proper texture without turning into a solid block of ice in the bowl.
How long does it take for the mixture to freeze on the FS301 model?
Allow about 30 minutes with the Slush program, a duration that may vary slightly depending on the initial temperature of your water.
