Ninja Slushi compatibility
Program used: Milkshake (milkshake)
A complete, frozen breakfast that is perfect when you don’t have time to prepare a bowl of hot oatmeal. No more ice cubes diluting the flavor in the blender, the Slushi freezes the mixture itself for intact flavor. This fruity and spiced blend offers a velvety texture that is very pleasant to sip with a wide straw, all while maintaining an intense freshness.

minutesA complete, frozen breakfast that is perfect when you don’t have time to prepare a bowl of hot oatmeal.
Ingredients
500 ml oat drink (or milk)
350 g peeled and cored pears (about 3 medium pears)
80 g rolled oats
60 ml maple syrup (or agave syrup, essential for the texture)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a standard blender, finely mix the pears, rolled oats, oat drink, maple syrup, and cinnamon until you obtain a perfectly smooth liquid. Finely mixing the oats is crucial to avoid clogging the Slushi auger.
- Pour the mixture into the Ninja Slushi tank, ensuring the volume is between the MIN and MAX markers.
- Select the Milkshake program and let the machine work until a thick smoothie texture is achieved.
Pear ginger version
Pear ginger version: Add a small cube of fresh ginger during the blending step for a spicy and comforting touch.

View recipeThe secret to a successful oat and fruit blend
To get this morning drink right, the first step outside the machine is essential. Finely blending the oats ensures that the flakes won’t block the auger of your device. I always use a powerful standard blender to reduce the fruit and grains into a perfectly homogeneous liquid before pouring it in. If you leave large pieces, the machine might enter safety mode or make noise. Once the texture is smooth, the cold does its job and transforms the whole thing into a thick cream that is easy to drink. By the way, it’s the same principle if you try a Tropical mango and pineapple smoothie bowl: an impeccable liquid base always gives the best result when serving.
Sugar balance for good freezing consistency
I am often asked if it is possible to completely remove the sugar from morning recipes. With this type of machine, sugar acts as a natural antifreeze. Without the maple syrup I recommend, the pear and plant-based drink would end up freezing into a hard block on the walls, preventing the auger from turning properly. The ratio of 60 ml of syrup per liter of preparation is truly necessary to obtain this creamy consistency, which can be drunk with a wide straw. You can of course use agave syrup if you prefer, the main thing is to keep this sugar content. This is what makes the difference between a drink that holds its consistency and a bland ice cube that you have to scrape with a spoon.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use canned pears?
Yes, but watch out for the added sugar in the syrup of the canned fruit. If you use them, reduce the amount of maple syrup slightly to prevent the mixture from being too liquid.
What if my smoothie is too thick?
If the drink is difficult to sip through the straw, add a small splash of oat drink directly into the tank and let it run for a few minutes to soften the mixture.
Why is the machine making a knocking sound?
This is often a sign that a piece (like a leftover piece of poorly blended pear or a clump of oats) is interfering with the rotation. Always make sure to blend your base perfectly beforehand.
