Ninja Slushi compatibility
Program used: Slush (slushie)
Cold-brewing creates a light, bitterness-free tea which, once prepared in the Slushi with the right amount of syrup, transforms into an ultra-refreshing drink. I’ll warn you right away: when I first tried it with just unsweetened brewed tea, the mixture froze into a solid block; adding syrup is essential. It is this sugar that allows for that smooth, straw-ready consistency, perfect for summer, with a true fruity flavour and an intense freshness that lasts in the glass.
Peach Iced Tea Slush

Ingredients
15 g of peach-flavoured black or green tea (loose leaf or bags)
800 mL of mineral water
150 mL of peach syrup
100 mL of peach nectar or liquid peach purée
Instructions
- Steep the tea in the 800 mL of water for 4 to 6 hours in the fridge, then strain carefully. Cold-brewing prevents the extraction of bitterness from the tea tannins.
- Stir in the peach syrup and nectar with the brewed tea, stirring well to ensure the sugars are dissolved. The sugar in the syrup lowers the freezing point to allow for the slush texture.
- Pour the mixture (which reaches approximately 1050 mL) into the vessel of the Ninja Slushi, checking that the level is between the min and max fill lines, then select the Slush programme.
- Let it run until the three beeps signal a smooth slush (the ideal texture is drinkable through a straw) and serve immediately with a few fresh mint leaves.
Summer cocktail version
Add 120 mL of vodka or bourbon to the final mixture before filling the vessel and select the Frozen Cocktail programme.

View recipeThe art of iced tea in the Slushi: why sugar counts
This is the lesson I learned from my first tests with tea: we tend to want to make a healthy, sugar-free drink, especially with a nice homemade infusion. But in the Ninja Slushi, the absence of sugar turns your drink into a block of ice instead of a pleasant slush. Sugar acts as a natural antifreeze. Here, by combining cold-brewing (which respects the product without releasing bitter tannins) with 150 mL of peach syrup and a little nectar, we reach the ideal proportion. This mixture ensures a result that is perfectly drinkable through a straw and consistent throughout the cycle. If you find the preparation a little too sweet before pouring it into the vessel, keep in mind that cold always numbs the palate: the flavour will be balanced once the texture is set.
Fine-tuning and choosing the right programme
For this fruity tea-based recipe, the Slush programme is truly the best choice on all models (FS301, FS601, or the Max). It creates a fine, refreshing grain. However, if you are attempting the cocktail version by adding vodka or bourbon, you must switch to the Frozen Cocktail programme. Alcohol strongly modifies the freezing point and requires a different setting. And if you ever see the machine’s blades struggling or hear the machine beeping, it is a sign that the liquid is not rich enough in sugars (indicator lights flashing one by one from top to bottom) or contains too much alcohol (lights from bottom to top). In this case, add 15 to 30 mL of peach syrup per serving to the base, mix before pouring in, then reset the programme and restart. As with a frozen Long Island, the secret to success always lies in this balance of liquid, sugar, and temperature.
What kind of tea do you use as a base for your summer iced drinks?
Frequently asked questions
Can this slush be made with a classic hot infusion?
Yes, but you must let the tea cool down completely before pouring it into the vessel. Cold-brewing remains preferable, however, to avoid any bitterness.
My iced tea has frozen and the machine is beeping, what should I do?
This is a sign that there isn’t enough sugar to act as an antifreeze. Add 15 to 30 mL of peach syrup per serving, mixed separately with a little of the base, then restart the programme.
Do I need to adjust the quantities for the Ninja Slushi FS301?
The total volume of this recipe (approximately 1050 mL) is very well suited to the FS301 vessel, always making sure to stay between the min and max lines of your appliance.
Can I replace the syrup with a calorie-free sweetener?
No: the manufacturer requires avoiding artificial sweeteners and recommends at least 4% sugar content. Use real sugar (syrup, honey, or granulated sugar).
