Ninja Slushi compatibility
Program used: Frozen Cocktail (frozen cocktail)
A tropical twist on the margarita, perfect for breaking in the Slushi’s Frozen Cocktail program. I love this combination of mango and guava, which adds a lovely roundness against the tartness of the lime and the botanical strength of the gin. Once the cycle is finished, you get an ultra-refreshing drink to sip leisurely through a straw, without the solid ice block effect of a standard blender.

minutesA frozen margarita with tropical notes, balanced to freeze perfectly in the Slushi.
Ingredients
115 ml gin
60 ml triple sec (such as Cointreau)
200 ml mango nectar
200 ml guava juice
60 ml fresh lime juice
60 ml agave syrup
305 ml water
Instructions
- In a pitcher, thoroughly mix the gin, triple sec, juices (mango, guava, lime), agave syrup, and water. Do not exceed the amount of gin: alcohol prevents the mixture from freezing.
- Pour the mixture into the Ninja Slushi tank, ensuring you stay between the MIN and MAX lines (you will have about 1000 ml in total).
- Select the Frozen Cocktail program and wait about 60 minutes until you achieve a nicely frozen consistency that is easy to sip through a straw.
- Serve immediately in glasses with rims previously frosted with salt or sugar, depending on your preference. (Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health, please drink responsibly).
Mango Guava Mocktail
Mango Guava Mocktail : Omit the gin and triple sec, top up with sparkling water or ginger ale, and use the Slush program instead of Frozen Cocktail.

View recipeThe right amount of alcohol: the golden rule for successful freezing
With the Ninja Slushi, the biggest trap for alcoholic recipes is being too heavy-handed. Alcohol acts as a powerful antifreeze: if you exceed 175 ml of strong spirits (40% gin, vodka, or tequila) for a liter of total mix, your margarita will remain liquid indefinitely. That is why I have precisely adjusted the proportion of gin and triple sec in this recipe. If you find the cocktail lacks punch, keep this base in the tank and add a splash of alcohol directly to your glass when serving.
The importance of sugar in fruity cocktails
Even if the juices bring their own sweetness, agave syrup is essential here (as I often explain for the mango vanilla granita with Ninja Slushi). Beyond taste, sugar plays a fundamental structural role in the machine: it is what allows you to obtain this finely crushed result without the liquid turning into a single hard block. The Frozen Cocktail program is calibrated for this precise balance. If the machine starts flashing or beeping without the liquid freezing, do not hesitate to add a drizzle of syrup into the tank.
Which other tropical fruit would you add to this frozen cocktail?
Frequently asked questions
Why is my gin margarita not freezing in the Slushi?
It is very often related to the amount of alcohol. If you added the gin by eye, you may have exceeded the machine’s freezing capacity. Add a little more fruit juice or sugar water to dilute the alcohol content.
Can I use other exotic fruit juices?
Absolutely. Passion fruit or pineapple work very well as a substitute. The main thing is to keep the same total volume of liquid and sugar so that the Frozen Cocktail cycle runs correctly.
How do I make this recipe if I have the classic Ninja Slushi (FS301)?
The FS301 model has the exact same Frozen Cocktail program. Since its tank is slightly smaller than the XL versions, this one-liter recipe is perfect and will remain well below the MAX line.
