Banana coconut milkshake in the Ninja Slushi

Ninja Slushi compatibility

Program used: Milkshake (milkshake)

The advantage of the Slushi over a classic blender for this recipe is that there’s no need to add ice or ice cubes that dilute the fruit’s taste. No more melted ice at the bottom of the glass, the machine freezes the milk-fruit mixture directly. The result is truly creamy, with an intense tropical scent. It’s perfect for a summer snack where you hesitate between drinking it with a straw or enjoying it with a spoon.

A tasty banana and coconut blend, cooled directly without ice cubes to keep all the fruit’s intensity.

Ingredients

  • 3 very ripe bananas

  • 400 ml coconut milk

  • 400 ml whole milk

  • 50 ml cane syrup (or agave syrup)

  • Shredded coconut (for serving)

Instructions

  • Finely blend the bananas beforehand to obtain a very smooth puree without lumps. Blending the bananas prevents the auger from jamming with chunks.
  • In a container, mix the banana puree, coconut milk, whole milk, and cane syrup.
  • Pour the preparation into the Ninja Slushi bowl, strictly respecting the filling level between the min and max markers.
  • Select the Milkshake program and let it run until a very thick texture is obtained.
  • Serve with a spoon or a wide straw, and sprinkle with shredded coconut.

100% plant-based version : Replace the whole milk with oat or almond milk for a fully vegan version while maintaining a beautiful creaminess.

Why do I add syrup to a fruit milkshake?

I am often asked why not just settle for the natural sugar of the fruit. In the Ninja Slushi, sugar acts as a real antifreeze. Even with very ripe bananas, if you only use milk and pulp, the liquid risks freezing into a block that is too rigid and forcing the auger. The 50 ml of cane syrup I add guarantees a final drink that is very dense but still flexible and pleasant to sip. It’s the famous rule of texture balance! If you like to vary your treats at home, know that this basic principle also applies perfectly to my banana-strawberry milkshake in the Ninja Slushi recipe, where the sugar dosage is just as crucial to avoid unpleasant surprises when the machine is churning.

Preparing your base properly before starting the program

Unlike a traditional blender that pulverizes ingredients at high speed, our appliance’s bowl churns the liquid as it cools. It is therefore essential to blend the banana separately before incorporating it. If you leave small pieces, they will harden instantly upon contact with the metal walls and risk jamming the churning mechanism. I always give it a quick pulse with an immersion blender in my bowl to get the smoothest base possible. It is the same reflex to adopt for other gourmet creations in this category, such as the Oreo milkshake in the Ninja Slushi, where the biscuit powder must be very fine to circulate well during the program.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use canned or carton coconut milk?

Both work, but I prefer fluid carton coconut milk. Canned coconut cream often contains frozen fat chunks that need to be very well blended beforehand.

My machine is flashing after a few minutes, what should I do?

This is a sign of a liquid that is too hard. This happens if the banana lacked natural sugar. Add a splash of milk and a dash of syrup directly through the hatch to thin out the preparation.

I have the entry-level FS301 model, is it compatible?

Yes, absolutely! The Milkshake program is present on the FS301 just like on larger models. The proportions I provide fit perfectly in the bowl.
